What do we do?

Community Development Projects founded by Dr. Thomas Mathews, has been working in the development field since 1963.

CDP aims to help people by enabling sustainable development and improving living condition by means of health care and education in a comprehensive manner.

The Ashadeep Kids Club was conceived with the idea of increasing health and education, thereby increasing their self-worth, in target communities. The target communities were chosen as a result of ties of some sort with the people of these communities and they have been seeking help of various needs related to education and health. Because of accessibility into these communities, relation is built and ten seed techniques have been conducted to know the real problem of these communities.
Also for the women adult literacy is implemented which is helping the women to identify letters, to read and to write. Vocational trainings are being conducted to enhance skill and capacities so that they can become independent earners as well as add to the family income.
The purpose was chosen after various deliberations and discussions with professionals, the target communities and the staff of CDP. The purpose seeks to fulfil part of the goal of making healthy and self – reliant communities in Rajasthan. The Project has been implemented through a team of Project Manager, Area facilitators, Field facilitators, CHE volunteers, administrative staff and families in the community.

Also it promotes gender-balanced leadership in community and trains leaders to plan, implement and monitor development initiatives.

In the area of health care, Ashadeep Community Health Centre, helps connect the community to meet their basic needs. It encourages communities to avail existing government health care facilities for treatment of major ailments. It also trains local health volunteers and enables them to meet primary health care needs effectively. The project emphasizes on health and education, control and prevention of communicable diseases.

The organization structure of the project will include Project Committee, Project Manager, Area facilitators and Administrative helps. The project will be supervised by project committee who will meet every quarter and discuss and evaluate on the progress of the work.

The project has good links with professionals serving in the universities, hospitals, schools and other sectors of society whereby it can generate help and guidance whenever needed.

The expected impact on the beneficiary will be healthy and motivated children, self-reliant communities and partners will be equipped and empowered in community development projects.
